From established Brands to Wannabe\u2019s; everyone seems to have only one word for Marketing these days \u2013 Digital!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" src=\"http:\/\/agency09.co\/simplifyingtheweb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/blog01.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-234\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.agency09.in\/simplifyingtheweb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/blog01.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.agency09.in\/simplifyingtheweb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/blog01-560x374.jpg 560w, https:\/\/www.agency09.in\/simplifyingtheweb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/blog01-800x534.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.agency09.in\/simplifyingtheweb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/blog01-320x213.jpg 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Suddenly, there\nseems to be an epidemic of sorts and the only cure around is Digital. As a\nCertified Digital Marketer; this should make me very happy, give me goosebumps\neven; like a brand said sometime back \u2018The Future is Bright\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, better\nsense prevailing on me, I can\u2019t help but wonder is this a good thing or bad?\nHaving learnt from my own experiences with another sunrise industry in India\n(now in doldrums within a mere 25 years) Telecom; I wonder if Digital Marketing\nis going down the same road. With the so-called Digital Marketing Academies or\ntraining institutes mushrooming at every corner in every street; Quality check\nis the primary casualty of the trade. These institutes are churning out DM\n\u2018experts\u2019 by the dozen. Experts who have backgrounds as diverse as from Arts to\nEngineering; but sadly, with little to no experience in Marketing; the Brick\nand Mortar format; the real-world kind. Their tag or expertise is acquired at a\nmere investment of a few hours or months at the Digital Marketing training\ninstitutes; and in return, they now claim to be experts in the field; capable\nof taking on vocations such as SEOs and SEMs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All that these institutes are doing is equipping their students to tackle \u201cHow\u201d; how to undertake SEO, how to tackle SMM, how to place an ad on Facebook et al. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" src=\"http:\/\/agency09.co\/simplifyingtheweb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-236\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.agency09.in\/simplifyingtheweb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/3.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.agency09.in\/simplifyingtheweb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/3-560x374.jpg 560w, https:\/\/www.agency09.in\/simplifyingtheweb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/3-800x534.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.agency09.in\/simplifyingtheweb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/3-320x213.jpg 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Understandably, \u201cDigital is the new Mantra.\u201d Marketing & advertising gurus across the world are gung-ho about it. From established Brands to Wannabe\u2019s; everyone seems to have only one word for Marketing these days \u2013 Digital!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>which happens to\nbe the one aspect that takes years to understand and master, the aspect that\nclearly gives a Marketer the edge; the foresight into whether or not to\nundertake a project; to diagnose a situation & to judge the aptness of a\nsolution. The Why gives foundation to Marketing and without it; no matter how\ntall or how fancy a building may be; it\u2019s bound to tumble!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m amazed at\nthe fact that \u2018Marketing\u2019 from Digital Marketing is so overlooked; forgotten\neven; that it makes me very concerned as a Brand Custodian. Most so called\nDigital Marketing specialists cannot even equate the real world with the\ndigital world and the nuances therein; leave alone attempting to influence the\nbuying behavior of a brand in social space. Without a clarity on these basics,\nhow can one do justice to his or her job in the Digital domain? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But who could\nblame them? All this whilst not even elaborating on the obvious advantages of cost savings!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the wise men say; \u2018it takes time and effort to do it right.
